Invertek Drives Ltd are involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic variable speed drives for controlling the speed of electric motors. Their products are sold globally by a network of specialist distributors in 40 different countries.
Invertek Drives unique and innovative Optidrive range is designed for ease of use and ease of installation. Our remit in this project was to design the next generation Optidrive range building on the functional success of its predecessor but removing unnecessary costs in product assembly and in the storage and procurement of components. As well as new electronics the E2 includes new designs for all of the plastic assemblies. The range consists of seven different frame sizes (Sizes 1-7 ) so keeping components to a minimum was key. One of the main innovations in this project sees many of the plastic components becoming common throughout the range. This has greatly reduced the build time and cost as well as investment in tooling, the ordering process and in warehouse storage. The E2 drive not only delivers innovation from a product assembly standpoint it also has a dynamic visual language giving Invertek a competitive and distinctive place in the market.
